Admitted Students FAQs

I am a returning student. What do I need to do?

If you have not attended Northwest for 3 or more semesters, you are required to complete Orientation to enroll. If you have only been away for 1-2 semesters, you may reach out to your academic advisor or the Student Success Center to enroll.

I have a question about how my transfer credit is being applied at Northwest. Who should I contact?

Contact a transfer advisor at transfer@nwmissouri.edu or 660.562.1695. They will communicate with you through email, phone, or Zoom to review your credit and answer any questions you have.

Am I required to attend orientation?

Yes, transfer orientation is required. You may attend an in-person orientation date or complete the online orientation. Orientation initiates the enrollment process and provides important information about campus resources and academic success.

Am I required to live on campus as a transfer student?

Living on campus is optional for transfer students. If you plan to live on campus, be sure to complete your application in the housing portal. If not, complete the Commuter Form.

I’m still enrolled in classes at my previous institution. When should I send my transcript?

An official transcript is required for the admissions process, which will allow you to enroll. Then, be sure to send a final official transcript after final grades are posted.

How can I get connected on campus as a transfer student?

Your orientation experience will introduce you to campus organizations and events. The transfer team will also host transfer student events during Advantage, our welcome program, and throughout your time at Northwest. We look forward to helping you get involved and meet new friends!

I’m having trouble logging in. Who should I contact?
