Why Study Health Communication at Northwest

The health communication minor combines disciplines from both the School of Communication and Mass Media and the School of Health Science and Wellness. In this program, you’ll learn how to communicate effectively when it matters most.

Areas of study include doctor to patient communication, public health campaigns, overall health messaging and more. You'll learn how to connect with others within the healthcare field to achieve certain goals and outcomes. This program is communication heavy, meaning your writing skills will increase tremendously!

Knacktive allows teams of students to conduct market research, analyze data, write creative strategies and develop an integrated, digital marketing campaign for a real-world client. At the end of each course, Knacktive teams pitch their ideas to the client in hopes of being selected. This is a great way to hone written and oral communication skills.
