Computer science powers modern society. Whether you make a purchase on Amazon, do a search on Google, send a tweet or check your email, you are leveraging the power of computer science! It's hard to identify an industry that does not utilize computer science. Whether it be in agriculture, banking, healthcare or social media, computer science is utilized!
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment in the computer and information technology field is projected to grow 15% between 2021 and 2031. This growth rate is well above average!
This program teaches both the theory and practice of computer science. Students can get a general degree in computer science or focus on one of three emphases: information security and assurance, data management or mobile computing.
Northwest's School of Computer Science and Information Systems annually hosts a professional advisory team that includes more than 40 professionals from various industries to review Northwest's computer science curriculum. This effort ensures Northwest's curriculum is relevant and effective!
