Northwest Missouri State University’s Percussion Ensemble will present its final spring concert on Wednesday, April 23.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. It is free and open to the public.
The Percussion Ensemble will perform works, including Alejandro Viñao’s “Kahn Variations,” Ed Argenziano’s “Stinkin’ Garbage,” Ivan Trevino’s “Catching Shadows,” Mat Campbell’s “Electric Cathedral,” Michael Laurello’s “Spine” and Owen Clayton Condon’s “Fractalia.”
The concert will feature a traditional percussion ensemble with soloists, a quartet and an electronic soloist.
“It’s important for the students to see that their hard work is being supported,” Shelby Shelton, the conductor of the Percussion Ensemble, said. “So we love having an audience of people there to cheer on the kids, but I also think that it’ll leave people energized and excited about percussion.”
