Northwest Missouri State University’s Student Activities Council (SAC) this month will welcome Mike E. Winfield, an actor and comedian who turns the ups and downs in his life and marriage into the humorous jewels he releases on stage.
Mike E. Winfield
The performance begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. It is free and open to the public.
Originally from the rough streets of Baltimore, Winfield moved to California to pursue comedy, which has yielded appearances on “America's Got Talent,” “Late Show with David Letterman,” “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo” on Netflix and a recurring role on NBC’s “The Office.” Winfield also received an Emmy nomination and has been a part of multiple movies.
Winfield discusses falling in love and marrying an older woman with a child – which he says was a problem because he wasn’t ready to be a husband and made many mistakes in the marriage. He has since learned and developed a bond with his stepson, whom he jokingly refers to as “StepMAN” because they’re close in age.
SAC plans and administers activities for Northwest students to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational and cultural life for the campus and community. The organization provides entertaining alternatives to students with late-night activities and events throughout the year, including concerts, lectures, movies and comedians.
