At the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St. Joseph, Missouri, the seventh annual National Undergraduate Juried Exhibition features a painting and a drawing by Caylea Dill, a senior art education major from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and a painting by Luke Kral, a graphic design student from Conception, Missouri.
The Albrecht-Kemper exhibit features 31 artists from nine universities in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, and it continues through Sunday, June 4. Students enrolled in undergraduate programs throughout the United States during the 2022-2023 academic year were invited to submit artwork.
Additionally, two paintings produced by Ireland Palmer, a senior art education major from Shenandoah, Iowa, appeared this month in the Kansas City Artists Coalition’s 29th Annual Undergraduate Student Juried Exhibition. It featured artwork from 41 undergraduate students, and Palmer received a first-place award for her work.

“The Northwest art program is very proud of what these students accomplished,” Muhsam said. “Their successes are the result of dedicated work, perseverance and the desire to comport themselves as professionals at every stage in their education, whether as first-year students or graduating seniors. Being chosen for these competitive exhibitions by jurors who are acknowledged professionals in their field is not only rewarding on a personal level but also opens up career possibilities for these students. Their unique artistic vision is noticed by a large audience and might generate interest in the form of commissions, internships, or further exhibition opportunities.”
