Through the partnership, Northwest will offer five digital marketing certifications.

  • Certified Digital Marketing Specialist – Digital Strategy and Planning
  • Certified Digital Marketing Expert + Professional Certified Marketer
  • Certified Social Media Marketing Expert
  • Certified Search Marketing Professional

Courses are designed for people seeking to update their skill sets; who may be in management and senior management; who have just graduated, want to hit the ground running and up their skills immediately; entrepreneurs and small business owners; and anyone wanting to implement an up-to-date digital strategy for their company.

“The partnership with DMI is exciting for us but especially for our learners because we now join the ranks of Google, Meta, Coca-Cola and many more who utilize DMI as the learning partner of choice for their digital marketing professionals,” Rebecca Lobina, Northwest’s director of continuing professional education. “Northwest is and has always been known as a quality education institution. Therefore, partnering with the world leader in digital marketing skill development creates an arrangement that is certain to continue that quality assurance for all our learners.”

Digital marketing refers to marketing efforts that occur online or through digital platforms, such as websites, social media, email, mobile apps, text messaging, search engines and web-based ads. It is used to connect products and services to potential customers and drive sales.

According to PR Newswire, the U.S. digital advertising and marketing industry is estimated to generate $460 billion today and is expected to reach $786.2 billion by 2026. As more people look to online resources for information before making purchases, an ever-increasing need exists for skilled digital marketing professionals.

“We want our students both on campus and those pursuing professional development to be career ready on day one,” Lobina said. “This digital marketing certification does just that for our campus students and gives the adult learner a valued, industry-recognized credential to propel their career to the next level.”
