More than 1,000 students from 53 northwest Missouri high schools competed April 5-6 at Northwest Missouri State University as its School of Agricultural Sciences hosted Northwest District Agriculture Career Development Events.

The annual contest is coordinated and facilitated by members of the Northwest agricultural sciences faculty, staff and students. Events take place at the University’s Agricultural Learning Center, R.T. Wright University Farm and Ed Phillips Memorial Arena.

“The success of this huge undertaking is due to the excellent work of Northwest faculty and staff, district agriculture teachers, Northwest students and members of the Maryville community,” Jackie Lacy, a Northwest senior instructor of agricultural sciences, said.
