Adam Bochart, an instructor of mass media in Northwest Missouri State University’s School of Communication and Mass Media, will present this year’s “Last Lecture,” titled “Risk vs. Chance,” at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom.

Sponsored by Northwest's Society of President’s Scholars, the annual event gives a Northwest faculty member the opportunity to speak as they would during the last lecture of their careers. The lecture is free and open to the public.

“Bochart is not only my favorite professor at Northwest but also my favorite teacher I’ve ever had,” Emma Bjork, a senior broadcast production major from Syracuse, Nebraska, who serves as secretary of the Society of Presidential Scholars, said. “He’s always willing to go above and beyond for his students, and his knowledge and experiences have the potential to impact more than just media students.”

Bochart joined the Northwest faculty in 2019 after earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast production with a video emphasis and a master’s degree in instructional technology, both from Northwest. He also has experience working with the Sporting Kansas City soccer team and the Iowa Cubs minor league baseball team.

At Northwest, he teaches coursework related to electronic media production, broadcast operations, video production, TV directing and digital cinematography.
