The NIC Undergraduate Award recognizes men in Greek life who are leaders inside and outside of their Greek life organizations. The award is given to individuals who serve their fraternity, Greek life and campus.
“I am beyond honored to be selected for an award of this caliber,” Jones said. “I’ve always strived to make a difference in the lives of each student on campus. It’s also so awesome to be among the other award winners. Being a leader on campus is so rewarding, and I am forever grateful for this award.”
Jones graduated from Northwest in May with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences education and is in his first year of teaching social studies at his high school alma mater, Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
“Northwest helped prepare me for my current job from the first semester I stepped on campus,” Jones said. “It’s important that they allow students to experience classrooms even as freshmen. Also, the professors help us get a better understanding of the current situations within education.”
As a Northwest student, Jones was the 2020-21 Student Senate president. He was also involved in TRIO Support Services, History Club and a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He worked as a student ambassador and, in 2020, was named Northwest's Homecoming king.
