Amy Washam, the director of Northwest Missouri State University-Kansas City, has been selected to participate in the 2021 cohort of the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Northland program.
The Leadership Northland program is an intensive eight-session curriculum devoted to strengthening and educating business and community professionals while giving participants opportunities to explore and strengthen personal leadership competencies. Upon completion of the program, graduates have an enhanced awareness of community issues and motivation to assume community involvement positions.
Washam, who has held various roles with Northwest since 2006, has a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology, both from the University.
She also serves as the vice chair for the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee. Last July, she was appointed Northland Education & Business Alliance (NEBA) Education co-chair with the Clay County Economic Development Council. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Gladstone Economic Betterment Council.
Northwest-Kansas City is located at the Northland Innovation Campus in Gladstone, Missouri, and offers opportunities to complete undergraduate programs in applied science, business, marketing, communication, education, psychology and technology. Northwest-Kansas City also provides client-based training and partners with a variety of organizations to offer credit, non-credit and continuing education professional development prospects.
