Northwest community mourning student’s passing

Northwest Missouri State University is mourning one of its students who died last night in his home community.

The student, Kylan Harrell, was a junior organizational communication major from St. Louis.

He served as the president of the University’s Alpha Phi Alpha chapter, was active in the Men’s Minority Organization and was a student representative for the Black Alumni Chapter of the Northwest Alumni Association. He also was a former student employee in campus recreation.

Faculty and staff should call the University employee assistance program at 800.964.3577. A county counseling support line also is available to all members of the Northwest community at 888.279.8188.
