Northwest summer courses to be offered online only

April 6, 2020

Northwest Missouri State University will offer courses in an online-only model during its summer term, the University announced today.

The decision is a result of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. Northwest’s spring courses resumed March 23 in an online-only format and will remain that way for the duration of the spring semester.

“This decision, like all of the decisions we’ve had to make this spring, was a difficult one, but we must continue to prioritize the health and safety of our students, employees and the communities we serve,” Northwest Provost Dr. Jamie Hooyman said in an email to University students and employees.

The University also continues to provide academic services and resources virtually. Offices providing online resources include the Student Success Center, Wellness Services, B.D. Owens Library and Career Services.

To help minimize the spread of COVID-19, Northwest has transitioned to restricted operations, and all campus facilities are closed to the public.
