The Missouri Business Education Association (MBEA) has recognized a Northwest Missouri State University instructor and an alumna with educator of the year awards.
The MBEA this week honored Cari Cline, an instructor in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems, as Business Educator of the Year at a college or university, and Heidi Daniel, a 2000 Northwest graduate as its Business Educator of the Year.
Cline, who joined the Northwest faculty in 2016, was recognized for her leadership in the northwest Missouri chapter of MBEA, which has included organizing free professional development for K-12 teachers and volunteering to present workshops that teach new skills to teachers. Cline also serves as a board member for an area school and seeks continued development as an educator in her field.
Daniel teaches business education in the Maysville R-I School District and was recognized as an active member of MBEA at both the state and district levels. She regularly takes students to Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) activities and assists other teachers with MBEA and FBLA curriculum. She is known as a “go-to person” for all area teachers who have questions related to the business education field.
MBEA consists of members who are business educators, business education students, retired business educators and others who collaborate in the development of business education in Missouri. For more information, visit http://mbea.weebly.com/.
