Dr. Allan McMurray, distinguished professor and professor emeritus of conducting at the University of Colorado-Boulder, will serve as the clinician and guest conductor for the band, which performs Friday, Jan. 24, at the annual MMEA conference in Osage Beach, Missouri.

John Bell, an artist-in-residence at Northwest and director of the University’s Wind Symphony, nominated the students for this year’s All-Collegiate Concert Band.

“These students are among the finest musicians in the music program at Northwest,” Bell said. “It was an honor to nominate them for this prestigious event, and I know they will be excellent representatives of Northwest at the MMEA Conference.”

Band directors from colleges and universities in Missouri that award bachelor’s or associate degrees in music are invited to nominate students to be members of the All-Collegiate Concert Band. Members are selected based on recommendations indicating musical accomplishments during their college careers. All students audition at the conference for specific chair positions in the band.
