Pass-Through Scholarships

A pass-through scholarship, which ideally begins at $1,000, passes from the donor, through the Northwest Foundation, to Northwest’s Office of Financial Assistance, where it is then awarded to a student. Unlike an endowed scholarship, a pass-through scholarship is not a permanent fund and is awarded only as long as you (or others) choose to contribute to the fund.

By establishing or supporting a scholarship, a donor can:

• Leave a personal legacy, or that of a loved one, at a University that made an impact on their life
• Invest in future generations of Bearcats
• Assist students with extreme financial need or students who excel academically
• Reward students pursuing a specified academic field of study
• Directly assist with Northwest's recruitment and retention efforts
• Help create long-term financial stability for Northwest
