The Department of Mathematics and Statistics presents the sixth installment of its 2024-25 Colloquium Series, "All Triangles are Isosceles, Right Angles are Sometimes Obtuse, and Other Ways to Lie Using Math" with Assistant Professor Dr. Taylor Harrison.

Abstract: Did you know that all triangles are isosceles? Or that pi is really equal to 4? How about that all dice are loaded? This presentation will examine some classic fake “proofs,” and then examine an apparent statistical
paradox.
