Concert Choir & Concert Band performances
Northwest’s Concert Band and Concert Choir will perform their first concert of the fall semester. The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building.
Founded in 2021, the Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. William Sutton, features brass instruments, woodwinds, percussion and string bass. It performs music from a variety of time periods and styles, from historically significant works to new band compositions and premieres. There are no auditions to join the ensemble, which is open to all Northwest students and employees as well as residents of the community. The ensemble presents two concerts during both the fall and spring semesters.
Formed this fall, the Concert Choir, led by Dr. Adam Zrust, is the newest choral ensemble at Northwest. Conducted by faculty and students, the intergenerational group affords pre-service music teachers an opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience prior to their student teaching experience. It is open to all Northwest students and residents of surrounding communities with no auditions necessary.
