My most recent journal article published concerned the preparation of teacher candidates in the era of accountability. The article is titled “Preparing to Pass the Physical Education Praxis-II Examination: Increasing Teacher Candidate Test-Wiseness, Self-Efficacy and Content Knowledge in the Era of Accountability.”
My scholarship has enabled me to present nationally at AACTE, ATE, UCEA, and SERA on topics ranging from accountability, using data to improve program effectiveness, developing high-quality educator preparation assessment systems, and preparing for accreditation visits.I have presented at numerous state and regional conferences (15+ times since 2002) including MACTE and MoAHPERD. Additionally, I have given more than 75 workshops for standardized test preparation for middle and high school students at more than two dozen schools. Similarly, I have worked with teacher candidates at Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western, William Jewell, Fontbonne, Evangel, Southwest Baptist, Truman State, Graceland University, and select others.
As a scholar and consultant on state and national accountability and assessment system development, I have worked with institutions including Lincoln University, Webster University, and the faculty and staff of Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Activities include: advising Doctoral candidates through dissertation research process, advising/chairing Specialist candidate field study research papers, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and offer test preparation workshops for undergraduates and alternative certification candidates.
