Northwest provides networked printers and copiers in all relevant campus buildings, including at residence hall front desks.
The Northwest Technology Service Center does
not support or repair personal printers and wireless printers are
not allowed to be connected to Northwest Wi-Fi. Please use your personal printer on the
wired network only and disable wireless entirely if that is an option.
May I bring my personal printer to Northwest?
Personal printers are allowed but not necessary at Northwest.
- The vast majority of assignments and exams are submitted electronically and thus, are paperless.
May I connect to my personal printer using Wi-Fi?
Personal printers are allowed only on the Northwest wired network.
What happens if I plug my personal printer into a Northwest network Ethernet port?
If a printer is connected to the wired network via an Ethernet port, the printer can be used by others and will not be secure.
How do I set up my personal printer?
- Printer set-up instructions may vary depending on operating system and model of printer.
- Connect the printer to your computer following the manufacturer's instructions.
Note: If you need to print and cannot install your personally-purchased printer, please connect to a Northwest networked printer for your printing needs. Installing a Northwest networked printer is easy and fast.
