Northwest provides networked printers and copiers in all relevant campus buildings, including at residence hall front desks.
The above tabs give directions on how to install the University networked printers and copiers for faculty/staff use. The sections are based on the device operating system and ownership. All directions require that the device is on campus and connected to the NWMSU_Secure Wi-Fi or the wired network.
Note: All print jobs performed using PETE and NOID print queues will be automatically billed to your departmental billing FOAP. If you need to print personal documents, use the print queues on the PERI server.

Retrieval of Documents Printed to an HP Printer/Copier
Documents sent to the NWFollowMe (or MobilityPrint on an Apple device) print queue are not automatically printed. Instead, they are sent to a queue that can be accessed by any HP printer/copier across campus. In order for the document to be printed, the print job will have to be released at the chosen HP printer/copier. The releasing of a print job varies depending on whether or not the PaperCut Client was used to designate the billing FOAP at the time the print job was created.
Releasing Print Jobs when FOAP was Designated using PaperCut Client
PaperCut allows departments to more easily manage departmental billing for printing through the use of FOAPs. After sending a document to print on a device with the PaperCut Client installed, PaperCut will prompt you to select the billing FOAP. See PaperCut and Requesting Printer Access for more information.
At the HP printer/copier:
- Tap the printer screen and swipe your Bearcat ID card.
- You can also select Sign In and proceed with your Northwest Network Account username and password or use your 919# (ID number) and corresponding PIN if you have created one.
- Select Print Release. A list of print jobs sent from your account will be displayed.
- Check the box for the job(s) you want to print. If you want to print all jobs listed, check Select all jobs.
- Select Print.
- Sign out of the printer/copier using the button in the top right corner of the screen next to your name.
Releasing Pring Jobs when FOAP has Not been Designated using PaperCut Client
If the PaperCut Client is not installed on the device you are printing from or you have opted to skip the PaperCut Client step, then you will need to assign the billing FOAP when releasing the print job at an HP printer/copier.
- Select the billing FOAP for the print job(s).
- Select Print.
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 for each job you need to print using a different budget.
- Sign out of the printer/copier using the button in the top right corner of the screen next to your name.

Installing Printers on the PERI Server for Personal Use
PERI print queues should be used by faculty and staff when printing personal or non-work-related documents. The use of print queues on PERI means the printing bill will be sent to your personal account rather than to a departmental budget.
Users who print to a campus networked printer on the PERI print server are auto-billed by their login credentials for the size of their print job.
- Black and white printing is 10 cents per page.
