Alumni Association Board Member
Board member since 2025
I have been a proud member of the Northwest Missouri State University community since April 26, 1999. I began my career as a Secretary in the Department of Modern Languages and ESL Program. On December 10, 2001, I transferred to the Human Resources Office as a Human Resources Specialist. I was promoted to Human Resources Generalist on September 1, 2013, and then to Senior Human Resources Generalist on July 1, 2019, the position I currently hold.
Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for helping people and supporting the employees who make Northwest a great place to work. I truly enjoy working in Human Resources and find fulfillment in assisting employees, answering questions, and helping them navigate their employment experience at Northwest.
I am married to Jay Drake, who is originally from Maryville and currently works for the Maryville School District as a Building Trades Instructor at the Vocational Technical School. Jay and I were married on September 25, 1999, and we are proud parents of two sons.
Our oldest son, Austin, is 25 and works full time at Kansas State University as the Project Administrator for Student Well-Being. Our youngest son, Connor, is 23 and is a graduate student at Dakota Wesleyan University, where he played football while earning his bachelor’s degree. He now serves as a graduate assistant coach for the team.

I love spending time with family and friends! Whether I’m relaxing by the pool or at the lake, cheering on my favorite teams at sporting events, or hopping on the Harley for a motorcycle ride, I’m always ready to enjoy life and make lasting memories.
I’m a proud supporter of Northwest and enjoy attending athletic events, especially football and basketball games. Music is also a big part of my life, and I enjoy listening to all types of music. I believe life is about spending time with the people you love, enjoying the things that make you happy, and making the most of every moment!
I have so many special memories from my time at Northwest that it would be impossible to name them all. Some make me shake my head, others have taught me valuable life lessons, and most bring a smile to my face. One thing I will never forget is the incredible people I have met along the way. Northwest has given me the opportunity to build lifelong friendships that I will always cherish. The memories, experiences, and relationships I have gained throughout my years at Northwest hold a special place in my heart and will always be a meaningful part of my journey.
