Minor in Agricultural Finance

Leaders of agriculture businesses and farms face continual changes and are responsible for making organizational, operational, and financial decisions. The Agricultural Finance minor is an interdisciplinary minor that combines aspects of the agriculture and financial worlds and prepares students for the agriculture lending industry.

Why Study Agricultural Finance at Northwest

This minor consists of the professions of agricultural loan officers and agricultural credit analysts. While not limited to Agricultural Business students, the minor is primarily designed for students majoring in Agricultural Business with a strong interest in finance and/or credit in agricultural lending and banking. This minor requires completing 21 credit hours, three of which are electives. 

Specifically, the Agriculture Finance minor will provide you with the necessary skills for careers in the following areas:

  • Agribusiness management
  • Banking
  • Commodity trading
  • Insurance
  • Land management
  • Real estate
