Program(s) Available: Minor
Are you interested in learning more about the aging process? Those who wish to work with the elderly community may consider adding this minor. As the population increases, the world needs more caring, compassionate people. Keep reading to learn more about our aging studies minor.
A minor in aging studies exposes students to the subject of gerontology, the social and behavioral aspects of aging. Students gain an understanding of the changes that happen as a person ages, such as social structures, physical changes and maintaining health and wellness practices that create a better life experience. Students also learn about active listening and effective communication.
Not sure which majors align well with an aging studies minor? Combine this minor with majors such as therapeutic recreation, applied health science, psychology or human services. For more information, review our academic catalog.
