Applying statistics and analyzing data in the sports world was a dream job for Jacob. After an internship suggested by a faculty member led him to the banking industry, he realized his skills in mathematics and statistics had multiple business applications.
Jacob interned at Bank of Oklahoma Financial in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was a consumer data analyst and worked to identify customer tendencies to determine fraudulent accounts. The knowledge, resources and leadership skills he gained in Northwest courses helped him make the data manageable and translate it into a model that could be more easily understood, saving the bank time and money.
Jacob enjoyed the small class sizes at Northwest and learning from faculty who tailored course content to fit the needs of students, ensuring he graduated career ready, day one.
