The Northwest Experience

Music has always played a role in Ali’s life. In fact, it inspired her to make teaching music her life-long goal. During her time as a Bearcat, Ali received hands-on, profession-based learning experiences right away:

observed teachers in grades 5-9 as a freshman
participated in field experiences including outlining lesson plans as a sophomore
spent 90 hours in the classroom teaching lessons as a junior
student taught for 16 weeks as a senior

This provided Ali with the opportunity to learn the operations of a classroom and good teaching practices right away. Because Ali took advantage of all the music department has to offer, she graduated career ready, day one.
