Bearcat baseball ready for weekend
MARYVILLE, Mo. – After a record setting offensive performance against Southwest Baptist, the Northwest Missouri State baseball team returns home to take on William Jewell Friday before hitting the road for a three game series against Emporia State.
How does a team follow up a game where they put up 31 runs on 27 hits including seven home runs?
Northwest will find out Friday as they will host William Jewell for a one game, nine inning affair with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. The Cardinals come into the game with an 11-16 record this season.
The Bearcats will head to Emporia, Kan. to open a three game series with Emporia State starting on Saturday. The Hornets currently rank fourth in the MIAA standings with a 20-14 record on the season and an 18-11 conference record. Game one is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with game two set to follow. The final game of the series will take place Sunday with the start of the game slated for noon.
Northwest enters this weekend with a 12-23 season record and 10-20 record in the conference. The Bearcats go into the four game set having won their last 3 out of 4 games and outscoring opponents 69-24 in those games.
