This site provides access to Supreme Court cases of interest to the school community from 1999 to the end of 2003. The most recent year's cases cover the areas of abortion, affirmative action, copyright, double jeopardy, ex post facto, fair housing, the First Amendment: Children's Internet Protection Act, First Amendment: cross burning, forced medication, Freedom of Information Act, gay rights, juries, Native American cases, sentencing, and sex offender registries.

This Web site provides up-to-the minute legal news, court decisions, analysis and insight, as well as legal forms, and 50-State specific sites. This is a great site for current events, and it also has a searchable archive.
This site provides "more than 535 legal search engines & tools." Click on Pick a Search Tool at the top of the page to search through state courts, federal courts, federal laws and more. "We have tried to include searchable resources for every state, including cases, court opinions, codes, statutes, bills and more, whenever possible. Federal resources can generally be found alphabetically."

Legal Information Institute
This is a searchable site with current cases accessible by date, by party name, and by the schedule of oral arguments. There is also a great page that links to historic (heard before 1990) cases by topic. There is also a section on Media Law that covers recent media law decisions in the Supreme Court and the Circuit Courts of Appeals along with other media law links. All of these sites are maintained by the Law School at Cornell University and their Legal Information Institute.

This site provides users free searches for cases in state and federal courts from 1790 to present and an additional search database in which users must subscribe an pay for documents they retrieve. Customer support, information about accounts and subscriptions, and additional information about lexisONE are also available.

This site provides links to state and/or municipal court sites for all 50 states, federal court web sites and international court web sites.

This is a wealth of information on recently decided Supreme Court opinions and those currently being considered. Besides intelligent summaries of Supreme Court opinions you can find commentaries and analysis of recent court decisions, court briefs, petitions, and links to related court opinions.

US Code (Laws of the United States)
"The Code is a consolidation and codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States." This is an easy-to-use, searchable database.
