    "Contains information on over 6,000 journals & book series that fall within the scope of the MLA International Bibliography. This information has been gathered by the MLA staff with the cooperation of MLA bibliographers and the editors represented in the listings. The entries list editorial addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses, frequency of publication, descriptions of scope, circulation figures, subscription prices and addresses, advertising information, links to online content, peer review, and submission guidelines. The directory also provides statistics on the number of articles and book reviews published each year, as well as how many are submitted."

    The LRC offers biographical entries on more than 145,000 authors, from Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Authors New Revisions, Dictionary of Literary Biography, Contemporary Literary Criticism and other Gale sources, providing detailed biographical, bibliographical and contextual information about authors' lives and works.

    The Literature Resource Center also includes selected full-text, excerpted, and commissioned critical material from Gale's respected Literature Criticism and For Students Series. The titles in these series include: Children's Literature Review, Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism, Drama Criticism, Drama for Students, Literature from 1400 to 1800, Nineteenth-Century Literature Criticism, Literature of Developing Nations for Students, Literature and Its Times, Novels for Students, Poetry Criticism, Poetry for Students, Shakespearean Criticism, Shakespeare for Students, Short Story Criticism, Short Stories for Students, and Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism. In addition, users can access current, full-text critical essays on major authors via the Literature Resource Center's link to more than 450 prominent literary journals.

    Author coverage in the Literature Resource Center is further enhanced by a strategic partnership with Merriam-Webster, Inc. Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature, featuring more than 10,000 descriptive entries on literary figures, works, and terms, is included in the basic subscription to the Literature Resource Center.

    Other features in the Literature Resource Center include over 75,000 selected full-text critical essays and reviews from proprietary Gale titles; 11,000 explications and overviews of prominent literary works; over 10,000 interviews with contemporary writers; links to 11,200 websites focusing on major authors and their works; a guide to writing a Modern Language Association-style research paper; access to theLiterary Index, an online database that indexes the content of all of Thomson Gale's literature products; and more.
  • Gale's Literary Index is "a master index to the major literature products published by Gale. It combines and cross-references over 165,000 author names, including pseudonyms and variant names, and listings for over 215,000 titles into one source."

    "Gale Virtual Reference Library includes encyclopedias, almanacs, specialized reference sources and more, providing respected authoritative essays on varied topics from numerous subject areas. This database provides 24-hour 'anywhere/anytime' access to great reference titles in eBook format. The entire collection can be searched simultaneously instead of one resource at a time."

    Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary database "with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc."

    "JSTOR offers high-quality, interdisciplinary content to support scholarship and teaching. The JSTOR digital archive includes more than 1,500 leading academic journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work."
