About 175 fifth and sixth graders experienced life on the Northwest campus for a day during a special event aimed at opening their eyes toward the possibilities of a post-secondary education.

St. Joseph Center opens in new location, celebration set for May 31
The public is invited to attend a grand opening reception and celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the new location. The event will include giveaways and door prizes; Northwest’s NPR-affiliate KXCV-KRNW will broadcast live from the event and Bobby Bearcat will appear.

Students from the Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics and Computing at Northwest Missouri State University placed high in regional, state and national competitions this spring.
Faculty to host annual Scratch software workshops for K-12 teachers
The Northwest Missouri State University Kansas City center in Liberty will host the University’s third annual Scratch Workshop and Summer Camp in June to educate area teachers about learning software developed to help students think creatively with a computer.
